Truckcom lets you allocate jobs to vehicles in a number of ways. One of the easiest to use is “drag and drop” where
you drag jobs onto a vehicle on-screen. If your plan changes on the day, they are communicated instantly to the driver
who is warned that there has been a change with an audible alarm.
Throughout the office system in Truckcom, there is a system of icons which tell you what stage a job is at and how
far it has progressed. A Pen Icon, for instance (as shown in the screenshot above), indicates that the delivery has
been completed and signed for. Also in this screenshot there are black arrows visible (for Delivery legs) and blue “C”
icons (for Collection legs).
This is one of several icon schemes available for office users in Truckcom. For specialist haulage such as Container
Movements, a different system of icons is used to tailor the system specifically for this type of traffic management.
Truckcom has been developed as a powerful, general purpose traffic management system and is now in widespread use by
operators in several different modes.
